Linear Anode (PBL)

CerAnode’s PBL PiggyBack™ Linear is a continuous, MMO mixed-metal-oxide linear anode designed for impressed-current cathodic protection (ICCP). Engineered for close-proximity deployment, it runs parallel to the structure being protected, delivering efficient, uniform current.

The PBL is flexible, arrives on-site ready to lay in place, and can be customized in design-life, current rating, wire diameter, insulation, and more.

This linear technology minimizes ground-bed resistance, optimizes current distribution, and is particularly power-efficient.

Installation & Accessories

Place Anode: Lay the PBL linear anode along the structure following the design layout, maintaining correct spacing.
Secure Anode: Secure the anode in its position; depending on the application, this could be by burial, taping, or fixing with supports.
Connection: Connect the anode’s header cable or termination to your CP power source (rectifier), ensuring low-resistance joints.
Power Source: Use junction boxes, test leads, and reference electrodes to allow system monitoring and measurements.
Monitoring & Commission: Verify current output, voltage, and structure potentials to make sure protection criteria are met.
Inspections & Maintenance: Periodically inspect connections, performance, and integrity of the linear cable to ensure long service life.
