MMO Anode Wire (CPW)

CerAnode’s CPW MMO Mixed-Metal-Oxide Anode Wire is a flexible, high-performance linear anode for impressed-current cathodic protection (ICCP). Engineered with a thin noble-metal-oxide coating on a core wire, it provides a durable, low-consumption solution for uniform current distribution.

Available in multiple core versions—solid titanium, copper-cored titanium, and copper-niobium-titanium—the CPW is built for adaptability to tight or complex geometries. Sizes include standard diameters of 1/16″ (~1.5 mm) and 1/8″ (~3 mm), offering design flexibility for different current demands and life expectancy targets.

Installation & Accessories

Installation: Lay out the wire according to the cathodic protection design, maintaining correct spacing and routing per the engineer’s specification.
Coke Sock: Bury or affix the wire in its “sock” (if provided) to ensure electrical contact and prevent damage. (Some linear anode systems use a coke-sock to enhance conductivity).
Termination: Terminate the anode wire to the feed/header cable with low-resistance connectors; ensure good strain relief and moisture protection.
Power Source: Use junction boxes, test leads, and reference electrodes for system monitoring.
Commission: measure voltage, current, and polarization (IR-free) potentials to confirm protections are within design criteria of the ICCP system.
Inspections & Maintenance: Periodically inspect the anode wire system to verify connections, performance, and check for wear or degradation.
Accessories: If needed, accessories like weights or perforated pipes may be used to stabilize the wire layout in tanks or buried beds.
