Fiberglass Junction Boxes (JBF)

CerAnode’s JBF Fiberglass Junction Boxes are non-metallic enclosures engineered to house and protect electrical connections for CP anodes, rectifiers, and monitoring circuits. Built with fiberglass-reinforced polyester (FRP), JBF units offer durable, weather-resistant protection for cathodic protection system wiring, bonds, and test leads, including in harsh, corrosive, or outdoor environments.

Lightweight yet robust, the JBF series ensures safe and long-lasting termination points and junctions without the corrosion or conductivity issues associated with metal enclosures. Their design supports single or multi-circuit CP configurations, making them a versatile component in impressed-current cathodic protection (ICCP) or galvanic systems.

Key Features & Benefits

Materials & Construction:

  • Fiberglass-Reinforced Polyester (FRP) Enclosure: Provides excellent corrosion resistance and protects internal wiring from moisture, salt, chemicals, and UV exposure—ideal for CP environments in soil, coastal, or industrial settings.
  • Non-Conductive & Electrically Safe: The non-metallic nature of fiberglass prevents accidental grounding or short-circuits, enhancing safety when handling multiple anode or structure cables.
  • Watertight, Dust-Tight Seal: Equipped with a continuous gasket and captive stainless-steel cover screws, ensuring reliable sealing against water spray, rain, dust, or wash-down environments.

Flexibility & Installation:

Applications

Installation & Accessories

    1. Mounting: Secure the fiberglass box to a wall, pole, or skid using the molded mounting feet or flanges for stability.
    2. Cable Entry: Use conduit entries or sealed cable glands through knockouts to feed anode leads, structure leads, reference cables, or test leads—ensure gaskets remain intact for watertight integrity.
    3. Internal Wiring Termination: Install a phenolic or non-conductive back panel with lugs, bus bars, or terminal strips to organize and terminate cables—label wires for clarity and maintenance per CP standards.
    4. Sealing & Protection: After installing leads, reattach cover tightening captive stainless screws to maintain dust- and moisture-tight seal; consider using desiccant or moisture-absorbing media if in humid or marine environments.
    5. Integration with CP System: Connect anode leads, structure leads, and reference leads to the rectifier, monitoring system, or test post; test continuity and measure initial potentials after startup.
