Portable Reference Electrode (CS-CU-3)

CerAnode’s CS‑CU‑3 Portable Reference Electrode is a portable copper/copper‑sulfate (Cu/CuSO₄) reference electrode used for field surveys and cathodic protection (CP) potential measurements. It offers a stable, well‑established half‑cell potential for “pipe-to-soil” tests and on‑site CP verification.

The design features a refillable electrolyte chamber, allowing you to maintain saturation in the field.
Lightweight and rugged, it can be deployed across multiple locations, making it ideal for on-demand or intermittent potential monitoring.

Key Features & Benefits

Materials & Design:

  • Copper/CuSO₄ Reference Chemistry: Uses a copper sensing element immersed in a saturated CuSO₄ solution, delivering a known and stable potential.
  • Transparent Refillable Body: Housings with viewports or transparent material let you visually confirm electrolyte saturation and top off as needed.
  • Porous Ceramic Plug: A ceramic or frit membrane at the tip allows ionic contact with the soil without rapid contamination.
