Overview
The Rugged Process Anode (RPA) is a compact, high-performance EMMO™ (Enhanced Mixed-Metal Oxide) anode engineered for impressed current cathodic protection (ICCP) in demanding process environments. Designed for tanks, piping, and industrial systems, it delivers consistent current output and long-term durability in confined and high-exposure applications.
Constructed on a high-strength titanium substrate with a ceramic EMMO™ coating, the RPA provides a stable, corrosion-resistant surface optimized for extended service life. CerAnode’s advanced coating and dielectric interface technologies ensure mechanical integrity and electrical isolation in aggressive chemical and marine environments.
Factory-assembled and fully sealed, the RPA features low-resistance connections that simplify installation while ensuring reliable, repeatable performance. It enables high-performance cathodic protection in applications where space is limited and system reliability is critical.
Key Features & Benefits
EMMO™ Coating Technology
Arc plasma–sprayed, mixed-metal oxide coating delivers a dense, mechanically bonded surface with significantly enhanced abrasion resistance over conventional MMO systems.
Low-Resistance Electrical Connection
Factory-sealed, corrosion-resistant connections ensure efficient current transfer and consistent system performance.
Compact, Factory-Assembled Design
Fully integrated assembly reduces field installation time, minimizes connection risk, and improves reliability.
Ruggedized Construction
Engineered dielectric interface and coating system provide mechanical stability and protection in chemically aggressive and high-chloride environments.
Versatile Deployment
Ideal for tanks, vessels, piping, and marine systems where space constraints and durability are critical.
Typical Applications
- Heat exchangers, water boxes, and process vessels
- Pumps, valves, and piping systems in industrial and chemical facilities
- Marine and offshore structures
- Tank interiors and contained fluid systems
- Industrial corrosion control in aggressive chemical environments
Installation & Accessories
Monitoring System Integration
Compatible with junction boxes, reference electrodes, and cathodic protection monitoring systems.
Direct & Secure Mounting
Designed for direct installation within tanks, vessels, water boxes, piping systems, and other process equipment, with application-specific mounting provisions to maintain proper anode positioning, electrical isolation, and exposure to the protected electrolyte.
Insulated Mounting Configuration
Installation should maintain electrical isolation between the titanium anode assembly and the protected structure to ensure proper ICCP current distribution.
Anode Placement
Proper positioning within the electrolyte is critical to current distribution and system performance. RPA placement can be configured according to tank geometry, fluid flow, protected surface area, and required current output.
Custom Assembly Options
Configurations can be tailored to the installation environment, including anode dimensions, connection arrangement, mounting provisions, cable lengths, and required current capacity.
